Women’s hunting clothing has come a long way in the recent years. We no longer have to suffer from wearing men’s clothes that don’t fit properly and are not comfortable for the women’s body type. Let’s face it - we’ve all been there struggling with the lowered crotch, small waistband and slender thighs in the conventional men’s line. I don’t know about you, but I’m not into pulling the crotch of my pants up every time I go to crawl over a pile of deadfall. We need hunting clothes that fit, are functional and even better - made by women who know what we need!
Girls with Guns Clothing offers an array of hunting clothes to fit every climate and hunting style. Whether you’re an avid bowhunter like me or a rifle hunter, GWG has you covered. A common misconception can be that the Girls with Guns Clothing hunting gear is not adequate for bowhunting. This statement couldn’t be farther from the truth. As an avid bowhunter it’s important that my gear is quiet, breathable, comfortable, water resistant and has stretch and layering ability. GWG makes an exceptional hunting line that portrays all of these qualities I look for in hunting clothing:
With bow season being towards the end of summer and the beginning of Fall for us here in Oregon it’s important to layer and dress for multiple weather conditions as it is most often times cold in the morning and hot during the day.
Here’s my top GWG hunting gear for the avid bowhunter:
Stalker Short Sleeve Performance Tee – Being lightweight and breathable this is a great first layer.
Stalker ¼ Zip Long Sleeve – This added base layer keeps me insulated on those cold mornings and can be easily removed and put into my pack without taking up space once the sun comes up.
Artemis Midweight 3 Layer Softshell Jacket – This is a bowhunter's dream jacket with its tapered sleeves, quiet fabric, 4-way stretch and under arm ventilation!
Aoraki Lightweight Pant – With the 4-way stretch, articulated knees, adjustable waistband and inseam these pants allow me to move easily in spot and stalk situations without making noise.
Nature’s Paint – Nature’s Paint is my go to camo face paint. With it’s easy on, easy off application and natural ingredients, my skin is left feeling clean and healthy at the end of a hunt.
Optional additions depending on your hunting climate that I suggest:
Artemis Midweight 3 Layer Softshell Vest – Just like the 3 Artemis 3-layer jacket this vest will give you added insulation for those really cold hunting environments.
Kilima Reversible Puff Jacket – The lightweight nature and packability of this jacket is amazing. I often throw it in my pack on days where the weather is wet so that I have a dry option on the way out.
Ayton Fleece Jacket - If you don't need a hood, the warmth and noise-free perks of the Ayton Fleece are hard to beat.
Ponytail Beanie - For those extra cold mornings, throw on the ponytail beanie to keep your ears warm and your hair off your face. The hole for your ponytail to go through is so convenient and comfortable.
Girls With Guns Clothing has done an amazing job designing a hunting line that works for all environments and hunting styles. Jen and Norissa know who their customers are, and are committed to uplifting and uniting us as women and hunters.
